SkyPort Launches Best-In-Class Partners Program and Attracts Top Tier Providers

February 14, 2007 – HOUSTON, TEXAS –SkyPort International, a leading provider of satellite communications services, has launched a best-in-class Channel Partners program to bring its state-of-the-art network to more users of voice, data, broadband and wireless services. 

The SkyPort Partner Program is designed to support all levels of the communication services value chain and provide integrators the tools that they need to offer satellite services to their customer bases.  Charter members of the SkyPartners Program include Avaya Inc. and DJJ Technologies, a leading Avaya dealer in New York and New Jersey.

SkyPort’s satellite Network Operating Center and Teleport in Houston provides broadband access and other communications to business and government organization dealing with remote locations, such as oil and gas exploration and production, off-shore drilling platforms, and enterprises which support efforts in other countries throughout the world. The company also is the ultimate backup and business continuity solution for many companies and organizations with terrestrial service that can go down in floods, storms and other unforeseeable accidents.

Serving as the backbone of many emergency response teams, SkyPort provides rapidly deployed communications solutions for first responders who require support for interoperability of incompatible radio and communications equipment.

The benefits of the SkyPartner program include:

  • SkyPartner Portal interactive web site. SkyPort offers online customer support and technical tools for quick response, as well as co-branded marketing materials.
  • SkyPrice, the easy-to-use pricing tool, takes the hassle out of complicated catalogues.
  • SkyWatch is a bandwidth usage reporting tool that enables Partners to provide proactive capacity planning and easily up-sell to a customer.
  • Live and on-demand customer webinars and seminars, to give customers a greater sense of comfort and understanding of SkyPort services.
  • SkyBucks , a co-op marketing program  to help pay for trade show support, market research, print ads, web banners, brochures and even grant writing programs for local government sales.
  • Sales and technical training, to increase the productivity of a Partner’s sales and technical staffs, setting them apart from the competition.

A cornerstone of the SkyPartner program is SkyPort’s Principles of Engagement, designed to insure fair, ethical and trusted relationships with and among Partners. Based on mutual respect, the nine Principles of Engagement are a set of business practices relating to the variety of circumstances which SkyPort and its Partners will face when collaborating in the marketplace.

Powell said the SkyPartner program is design to allow Partners to deliver value-added services with a high degree of technical expertise in how satellite services can benefit customers.

The SkyPartner program offers four levels of partnership, with margins based on the level of service and volume:

  • Teaming Partners. Each teaming agreement is uniquely designed for a specific situation.
  • Premium Partners. This plan allows sales agents to offer SkyPort’s profitable products and services to their customer base and receive agent commissions for the sales.
  • Gold Partners. The Gold plan enables technology providers of all types to offer SkyPort’s reliable and lucrative products and services to their existing and new customers as value-added resellers.
  • Platinum Partners. This reward Partners who not only market SkyPort’s products, but also provide installation and first-line technical support.
