SkyPort Chosen to Provide Web-Based Video Conferencing Services by the
Houston-Galveston Area Council of Governments

  • Services will be available to over 1,600 organizations nationwide

March 8, 2006 – HOUSTON, TEXAS – SkyPort International, Inc. is pleased to announce that TheVantage – SkyPort’s advanced video conferencing solution – has been selected to provide the hardware, software, and maintenance for a Managed Web-Based Video Conferencing Service to the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) Cooperative Purchasing Program (CPP) nationwide.

Since 1973, the H-GAC Cooperative Purchasing Program has been serving local governments, cities, counties and school districts, coast-to-coast. Program participants include 1,600+ local governments, agencies, and non-profit organizations. The CPP was established to provide participants with access to qualified product and service providers.  Through H-GAC’s Cooperative Purchasing Program, Skyport will have the ability to promote sales to government agencies throughout the country, without the need for the purchaser to duplicate the competitive bidding process.  This new program enhancement will result in reduced taxpayer expense and associated staff time.

This is a great opportunity for SkyPort, as we continue to expand our commercial scope. The H-GAC award will promote SkyPort’s video conferencing solutions to thousands of government agencies and corporations. And recognition as a qualified service provider in this capacity illustrates the caliber and competitive edge that SkyPort continues to achieve.
